Show & Tell Exhibition

18-foot-long Foss Drug sign to Jolly Rancher
memorabilia and a treasure box used to carry gold
and soldiers‚ wages on the Wells Fargo stagecoach.

Present Laughter
Garry Essendine, a popular and pampered actor, is
busily making preparations for an extended overseas
tour with devoted secretary Monica. His plans are
complicated first by Daphne, a beautiful stage
struck ingénue as well as a fatuously ardent
aspiring playwright Roland Maule, who insist on his
attentions. When his wife, his agents and his
numerous admirers arrive, Garry is hard pressed to
escape. Typical of Coward's sparkling dialogue and
alluring wit, Garry finesses the mounting and
potentially embarrassing social faux pas, fleeing
the chaos, reunited with his wife Liz.
Tickets are $19.00 - $26.50. Senior, student,
and group rates available. Miners Alley
Playhouse, 1224 Washington Avenue. For more
information call 303-935-3044 or visit

West Side Live!
Presents Loose Cannon Bluegrass: The Best Plucking
this Side of the Mississippi
Loose Cannon Bluegrass earns their reputation as one
of the leading country bluegrass bands in the west.
Swinging from lively banjo-laden jumpers to sweet
gospel ballads, the band tells earnest historical
tales and stories of a rural life. But, despite the
country roots, these songs are no simpler than
broken hearts and calloused palms are.
The five-piece ensemble share many, many decades of
musicianship, expertly plucking and strumming banjo,
dobro, guitar, bass and mandolin strings for a
textured sound that is both pure and complicated.
Loose Cannon also shares lead and harmony duties,
each player lending new flavor and perspective to
every new song. Hank Williams, Willie Nelson and
Joni Mitchell faithfuls, even new folk fans of
Oakley Hall, will all find comfort in their tunes.
7:00 p.m. $17 adult / $15 senior / $10
student. Tickets are on sale now at
westsidelivepresents.org. Jefferson Unitarian Church, 14350 W. 32nd Avenue. |

Black On Track: African American Connections and
Stories
Colorado railroads provided many
opportunities for the African American community in
Denver. By providing a means of mass transportation
and migration, the thriving community of Five Points
grew and developed as a result.
The Colorado Railroad Museum is commemorating Black
History Month in collaboration with the Blair
Caldwell African American Research Library and the
Black American West Museum for the event.
Listen to storytellers share how the railroad
touched the lives of the black community in the
Denver area and see a photographic exhibit from the
Blair Caldwell African American Research Library
that will demonstrate this rich history.
The railroads carried African American musicians and
their music across the nation. At this event, Jazz
and Blues music from artists like William Grant
Still, Sidney Bechet, and Bix Beiderbecke will carry
you back in time.
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The train departs every
30 minutes between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Cost is $5 for children (under 2 are free), $15 for
adults, $30 for families and $10 for seniors (over
60).
